  • Yea. Subbed

  • Agree. Will go with @ItkI 's suggestion.

  • in as well.. hopefully it will make me shoot more. here are some rules from another forum

also i would suggest the winner should post the next theme

    RULES:

    1. Any interpretation of the theme that falls within forum rules is welcome.
    2. You must be the person that took the photo. Previous photos are acceptable as long as you are the one that captured the image.
    3. One submission per contest, and you cannot resubmit a photo that you've submitted before in a previous contest.
    4. Images must be no larger than 1024 px in any direction. Links to larger images are allowed but you must have one that is under 1024 px for the poll.
    5. All contestants must host their own pictures
    6. All images must have a title.
    7. While post processing in Photoshop is allowed, adding or removing parts of the picture is not. In the event a photo is suspected to be "photo-chopped," the contestant will be asked to provide the original picture.
  • in that other forum, (e90post, bmw related) they have a photography subforum in the miscellaneous, allowing them to create a new thread regarding voting by including a poll and voting for 2-3 days.

i dont know if the creation of a sub forum specifically for photography is possible here. maybe an admin can help.

    lol

  • I think it's best not to allow old photos. It's not so much of a contest when you've got a library of your life's work to choose from. Some people may have had better experiences or opportunities in the past which is fine but for fairness and to give us all an incentive to get out and shoot more, I think a photo taken in that week is better

  • ^ I agree.

  • Also agree.

  • :) yeah never happened. its not exactly that you win a prize or anything but maybe they copied their rules from somewhere that had a prize.

  • Subbed and in. Haven't shot in ages, need an excuse to get out.

  • .

  • Nice one man, I just updated the OP with some rules, so if you could add a title and description that would be great. Like the shot.

  • @mi7rennie thanks dude, I have now added the necessary info

  • @luke572 sadly this

This was shot very early in the morning in Paris last August

means that the photo isn't eligible due to this:

One entry allowed per person per week and no trawling the back catalog, the photo needs to be taken in the week of the challenge.

    :)

enjoy hunting something new to take though :)

  • Ok man, thanks.

I'm trying to get people the entries to be shot in the week the challenge is running, tough with using a film camera unless you develop and scan them yourself.

For future entries I'd ask that you submit a photo taken in the week of the challenge, I.e. between now and Sunday night.

  • Maybe we could fix that a bit by saying taken or developed in the week of the challenge?

Would rely on trust where scanned film was concerned, but helps cut out archive work...

  • @MrDrem @mi7rennie Ah yes just seen that, cheers guys.

No worries, this gives me the kick up the backside I've been needing to get out and take some snaps for an eligible photo for this week then.

  • entries to be shot in the week the challenge is running, tough with using a film camera

    ..indeed.
Maybe allow 1 week back-trawl for analogue shooters?
Not really being serious - but indeed the way the rules are atm they more-or-less rule out film.

  • I'll have a think, was thinking this would predominantly suit digital photos but maybe we could do some film specific challenges with a longer period..... say 2 weeks.

  • Seperate thread maybe?
Curious to see whether there are enough film shooters on here to keep it running though.

  • Maybe we could fix that a bit by saying taken or developed in the week of the challenge?

Yeah that's a bit of a fix, but still it's like "let's see if there's something on that roll that I could post" rather than you go out after the new topic is announced and shoot.

Would rely on trust where scanned film was concerned, but helps cut out archive work...

The whole thing pretty much relies on trust anyway, with digital as well..
Don't see this being an issue as this is all for shits & giggles as no money is involved so hey..

  • I'm happy for people to post film and digital in this thread, if they can keep within the rules then all the better. Like I say if there is lots of people wanting a film challenge then we can run one concurrently.

  • Rules

    1. You can submit a picture up until midnight on the Sunday, voting will then run on Monday

..just remembered another thing from the other forum -
it's very nice if the winner / counter of votes collects all the entries before voting - makes a post on Sunday night / Monday morning containing all the images that have been posted during the week including the name of the photographer.

  • Good idea, at a minimum the posters names and photo titles so people can look back.
