  • Honk like a goose every seven seconds to warn people.

"WIDE LOAD!" you will honk. "LONG VEHICLE! CAUTION!"

  • GET OUT THE FUCKING WAY PLEASE THANK YOU BYE.

  • Noted. Thank you!

  • back up alarm de rigueur

  • Road riding or tracks and trails?
Either way a decent audible warning device (or playing card in the spokes) is needed so you can warn of your presence before you and your precious cargo slam into some wandering pedestrian or zippy dog lead.
You might consider a decent full length rear mudguard if your not going to have the clear screen in place all the time. It prevents sandblasting your passenger's eyes.

  • Stay away from the kerbs more than you think.

Adjust trailer tyres pressure, otherwise it'll bounces annoyingly.

Turn a lots later than you think.

Avoid some cycle path as they're never wide enough for you and incoming cyclists.

  • The missus has an 18yr old Uncle (long story, don't ask...) and he and his pals want to visit the Southbank and other skate hubs. Where do I put 10 Spanish kids who want to skate in London?

  • My hoover vacuum cleaner just sputtered on starting, went for a few seconds, sputtered some more, made horrible smells. It's a bagless cylinder Vax job, done well for several years. If a spare part motor can be sourced, is it relatively easy to replace? Or better off just buying a new machine?

  • Looking online, don't think the motors are commonly stocked anymore, it's 9 years old or so. Any recommendations for decent bagless cylinder cleaners?

  • According to Which - Vax and Samsung; although no one sporting a best buy recommendation. How spendy?

  • whatever's good value. I guess £100-200 range.
bit bewildered by lots that look similar, so just filtering according to noise, energy efficiency, suction ratings etc. this Samsung is currently winning - http://www.argos.co.uk/beta/static/Product/partNumber/3524868.htm#pdpFullDesc

I'd not heard of Samsung for vacuums, so if Which thinks it's a decent brand I'm leaning for that.

  • I think they've probably worked out where to actually go to skate, but where do I accommodate them?

  • Here's the £100-£250 range - highest 6 scoring bagless canister vacs

    Samsung SC21F50-Typical price:£200.00
    Bosch BGS4HYGGB-Typical price: £149.00
    Samsung VC08F70HDUR - Typical price: £144.99
Bosch GS-40 Compact All Floor BGS4200GB - Typical price: £150.00
    Samsung VC08F70HDVN - Typical price: £169.00
    Hotpoint SL C22 AA0 UK - Typical price: £180.00

I think the one you're looking at is closely related to the top Samsung. Probably on the right track.

  • ta for these. unfortunately Samsungs all seem to be last year's range and can't get hold of them (or similar). might go for a Bosch instead. have reached vacuum cleaner purchase research capacity for the day.

  • The best ones are the bag ones. Mainly miele.

  • You really can't go wrong with a Henry.
A fave with the cleaning company we have in our office.

  • Thanks for the explanation, tester. Every day's a school day :)

  • Potentially stupid question but here goes:

Can this be fixed by cold setting the frame?

To me it looks like the tubes are bent at/near the right dropout and that the rest of the frame is straight.

  • Pearson Easy-Come-Easy-Go - any thoughts on these frames (and Pearson frames in general)?
I've been offered one second hand (frame and forks) and am struggling to find much information around (found something @edscoble wrote a few years ago - what did you find?).

  • What is the attachment to the under side of the bottom bracket for the derailleur cables called?

Update: Seems it is "Bottom Bracket Cable Guide".

  • Steel garage shelving - 600mm wide x 300mm deep x 1800mm high - talk to me.

Found a good(ish) plastic version of the above but wondering if steel will allow greater loads than 20kg per shelf.

IKEA, B+Q, Screwfix, Wickes, Machine Mart and Argos have all failed me.

    Happy Valentines.

  • @fizzy.bleach
Are you stuck on those dimensions? I picked up one of these a few weeks ago and it seems well made and a good price. Not your exact dimensions though.
