Has anyone ridden the reds at Glentress? I am driving up to Aberdeen next month and would like to stop off on route, is it the kind of place where you would be alright riding on your own or is it rocky gnarl?

The Bike of Pink and every other MTB website of note has reached saturation point with "Aaron Gwin joins YT Industries" thing, yes. But I still feel the need to post the vid from YT officially debuting Gwin coz the fucker goes mentally rapid down a rocky hillside.
srsly. He's unbelievably fast. Watch from the 47 second mark.

Looking to move my XL Santa Cruz Tallboy Carbon S on as I'd like to go back to an SS bike for the riding I usually do an have something with more bounciness for taking on gnarlier stuff. It's a rad bike and very capable.
Bought brand new in September 2015, a few marks on it from use.
This build costs £3400 and I've added Thomson carbon risers, stem and dropper post so I'm looking for £2750 ONO.
Here's the web page on it http://www.santacruzbicycles.com/en/uk/tallboy

Went to Swinley for the first time in quite leteraly years (maybe 5) when I used to go fairly regularly with @dancing james, can believe how much its changed and how good it is, from maybe 4 or 5 built bits of trail that required having them saved in a GPS to be able to find them to just non stop trails, did half of the blue and onto the red until my riding buddy was physically broken, and then just followed a few fire roads to get back to the car park.
Now have serious bike envy, my 2011 focus 26er is looking very dated vs all the bouncy carbon things out there...

Crowthorn is much better tho
Remember corkscrew? There's still miles of trails around there and they don't have that polished aggregate death trap surface the Swinley official trails have.

I went to hadleigh park yesterday, it was fun and much more difficult than expected. Is there anywhere in N or E of london thats more natural?

Yusss! That looks delightfully sphincter tightening. Sorry about the lack of reply. Had a nice off at Aston and fractured wrist has stopped play somewhat.

Shit. Hope you get better soon. Aston Hill is slippery death this time of year.

Not sure if I ever shared this little edit from our Strathpuffer training.
I've since got myself an under saddle mount which I think might be quite fun for MTB footage.

My MTB shoes are all but dead.
I was thinking of replacing them With 'NW enduro mid' shoes. Because I am an on point, enduro beast. Well, OK. Because I commute, and do all my utility cycling in my MTB shoes, and these enduro shoes seem to offer a good Balance of Comfort and stiffness.
Any better options?
Seen any offers? -

my giro terraduro shoes are doing fine - initial pairs were poorly glued, but this pair are pretty much intact after 8 months - no signs of falling apart.

If you're not gonna wear an open face helmet with goggles, a soul patch and some post-ironic sleeve tattoos then you are not going to be "an on point enduro beast."

I have a big beard, a couple 80s tribal tattoos, and some massive Oakley eyeshades?
I looked at the giro. If I can find some to try on I may grab them. But I've had several NW shoes, and I know they are a good fit for me.

New wave of on point enduro beast.
On a vaguely related note, UK Enduro series is coming to Sheffield. I may well attend, with beer and megaphone...

If you had convinced your partner to go mountain biking for a weekend, where would you go knowing you'd probably be leaving on a Friday eve, have Sat and Sun free, and come back Sun eve or Monday? Trains + rent a bike + somewhere to stay all necessary.
Penmachno is also worth a visit
