Well, you're out of the FA cup so be congratulate them on that achievement. Just the daunting task of losing to City in the league cup lies ahead.
As for the league, I'm still convinced that we'll finish ahead of you.

How the mighty have fallen. Arguing over who will finish 7th and 8th. I'd love it if you finished one place ahead of us and ended up in the Europa league at our expense. That would be lovely
-
• #124254
Oh shit. Do you get into the Europa League by winning the Mickey Mouse Cup? If so, we'd better throw that one too
-
• #124255
I'd say if either of us finish above 8th than that's an achievement of some sort. The biggest difference between us and your lot is that we know when we see shite being served up.
Roll on next season, eh?
😉

Yes, that should be least of your worries though, it's not like you're going to beat City, is it?
-
• #124257
our big guns up front are back
we could see a vastly different team against villa
although villas current top of the league form might see a close match -
• #124259
narrow that form table down to just the last game and you'll see a very different picture
-
• #124260
now is not the time to be facing villa
-
• #124261
I'm pretty confident we will beat them yes. Did you not see the result when we played them earlier in the season then?
They are pretty much a two man team. Without Kompany and Aguero they are very beatable -
• #124262
You had me worried there, Aguero's fit at the moment. You think they won't play him at this stage of the competition?
-
• #124263
Aside from that, it might be fairer to say they need those two to win the league. The league cup just needs a solid squad performance on the day. The only hope you have is that they have a bad game.

the bonus clubs get for finishing higher up the table, will be enough to ensure Liverpool play through to the end. Also what's the point of trying to avoid the Europa League, if your squad's not big enough to compete in it, how do you think you'll be able to compete in the Champions League if you get there?
Europa League would give Klopp a chance to see what the young 'uns can do under competitive pressure, keep players fresh and create a meritocracy for the players that produce the goods to get a chance to be first choice in the League. If we weren't in the Europa League, not sure Kane would have gotten a go in the League, the goals he scored in Europe (even against the supposed european minnows) helped convince Pooch to play him. It's given Trippier, Wimmer and Onomah games where they get to impress and show they are worth their place. If it does half as much for Liverpool, you'll be grateful for it..

^ wise words.
Also - if, by chance, Liverpool qualify for the Champions League, they'll be dumped out into the Europa anyway.

Stadiums will be filled with "tourists" waving "half and half scarves and taking selfies" if ticket prices rise further, warned Football Supporters' Federation chairman Malcolm Clarke.
Where has he been for the last decade?

Is there some way of dragging keyword data out of threads? I reckon if we did, 70% of the posts in this thread would be about Liverpool.
-
• #124272
Post possession dominance, controlling the space between threads. Yeah, sounds about right. Might be higher.

Is this fact or speculation?
Just wondering.
Old Kloppy needs to sit his players down and tell them whatever we fucking do make sure we do not finish in the Europa League places. We need to finish tenth rather than 6th so we can concentrate on (staying in) the league next year
