My point was about the cost of new ones, I didn't realise how much they were. It's madness. How they can cost that much.

Very small market.
More development work required (for those that actually do stuff like tunnel testing) although the trend to aero road bikes might equalise that.

Not much different from road bikes of the same grade, e.g. Cervelo P5 Six with DA Di2 and Hed Jet 6 wheels is only £400 more than the S5 with the same build, the Magura brakes on the Tri bike account for a large part of that.

It's not about the bike.
My first cost £500 for the framset. My second one was less than half retail by buying last year's model new off ebay. It's as expensive as you want to make it. Get your sponsors onto it :)
