Berthoud alu stays on sks
Squabs used to go on about this - I suspect he was actually recommending something you had done- but when I asked about how a single fat alu stay works with double brackets made for draw bolts designed for thinner steel struts (double) he was reticent to go any further.
Did you just ignore the upper bracket on on the mudguard? And how did you attach the stays to the brackets?

Thanks @TurtleRecall and @M_V; as I said, never worked with a mid fork mount. Interesting solutions to double stays that aren't at a good angle. I think I would just invest in a few Berthoud alu stays and mount them on the SKS fenders like I did with one of my bikes, it worked a charm.
