Sky can't win in a race like this, if they don't win they'll get criticised for not taking it seriously, if they do win, they'll get criticised for being greedy.
I doubt very much that Froome went there for free, so if the race sponsors ponied up the cash for him to race they'll have wanted him to make an effort, rather than rolling in with the laughing group every day.

Is it any wonder that Sky have such negative sentiment against them with tactics like this? (noting the context of Froome having given gushing post-stage 1 interviews about wanting to pay Kennaugh back for his TDF support).
Also, I had forgotten how dreadful and annoying a commentator Rob Hatch is. Just watched the Hatta Dam stage and he pronounces 'Lobatao' differently three times in about 30 seconds.
