That Douze direction is done by cables and not a bar like the Bullitt. You can also split it in two. And it is french made.

Bullitt ride like a normal bicycle that happen to be a bit long.
Find a Bullitt and test ride it (if you have test ridden the Douze).
I rate Bullitt very highly too, was impressed with how it ride.
I have test ridden both.
I thought they rode the same way but I prefer having a step through frame as it is easier to mount / dismount when loaded.
