Cancellara's cadence gets all super regular when he's flying away too.
In my non-expert opinion, when both he and Femke are climbing really strongly in those videos, their cadence looks more like track bike cadence - which is super smooth because the cranks are setting the tempo rather than your achy legs. The people around them have ever so slightly lumpier cadence, slowing a bit more through that dead zone at the top of the stroke.
Or maybe I'm imagining things. Who knows. I do remember that when Froome was doing his kick up hill schtick, he dropped a gear and span like a motherfucker to get the added pace.

i was thinking of events that the Le federation of FGSS would run that would completely bugger up motorised cheating:
1 backwards cycling race
2 cadence bleep test (not about kph)
3 crank change race
4 equestrian style swapped bike race (you randomly get assigned someone else's bike) -

Can you DAS with a hidden motor?

Which means one of these hunks owns a bicycle dialled in exactly the same as a 19 year old girl.

I was just making the point that some motorsport uses volunteers for this kind of thing.

Ooh, here's a possible technology for that spinning bike

So dude has said it's his bike with his motor. Also, she never road it from the reports I've read. All of that is incidental (if true), however:
According to the UCI’s strict rules on ‘technical fraud’ it does not matter who the owner of the bike is. It is the responsibility of the rider and their team to ensure that any bike used adheres to regulations.

Yeah. The end game here is not about whether she is 'guilty' under the regs (she is), it's about whether cycling thinks, beyond reasonable doubt, she intended to use it in competition and is being dishonest.

• #189
So she is dropping the pack without duracell in the vid?

• #190
How would that rules work in a team?

It's difficult to prove that she was assisted beyond reasonable doubt.
Maybe she targeted that race. Who knows.

I've just realised that this thread was started six years ago.
Who knows how many results may have been skewed by this during such a long time?

• #195
maybe less than the amount of false accusations? (Cancellara, Hesjedal, yesterday Izagirre)

^ Hasn't anyone else relished that moment of calm, lying in the road listening to your freehub spin down before performing a limb audit? Are the cheats to take even that away from us?

Sometimes when I cant sleep, I take my bike out into the street and lie down and just listen.

"Lancashire parakeets"?
Someone's winding me up
-
• #199
Strangely enough, a google search for "Lancashire parakeet" returns only people selling/breeding parakeets in Lancashire and there's no mention of it being a breed of bird.

Just regular parakeets wearing clogs?
I'm assured, by someone who was there at the time, that this excuse is utter bobbins.
