The Kinlin XR31t and XR22T off set rim brake disc brake rims are excellent. The later is the same price as the DT Swiss R460 well close. I much prefer them over the R460 rim brake or disc brake offering. they are rounder for a start and the offset rim means a longer lived wheel.
Did a set of the XR22RTS OCR rims today on Miche disc brake hubs with sapim force spokes.
Tension DS rear 1200N DS rear NDS tension 780N. On the front wheel this was reversed. That is what offset rims do.
Mdcc_tester that Mavic EN821 rim looks symmetric to me. Never had one. Ryde also do offset MTB rims that would be fine for CX tyres but they are even more expensive. I agree spending more on rims does not always equal better.
