Because I love Garmin so much I just bought a 30x.

At least it's not an Edge device... it'll probably work.

I've been mulling one of these.
Using an etrex and then a 500 or something. Instead of the 1000.

I thought you loved the 1000?

So far it's been the best of the lot in terms of stability/reliability but I've still not used it on a long ride.
