It has only been mentioned a few times, including comments such as avoid kwik fit.
With that kind of wear there should be a shiny bit, I'd firstly stick load in the back, at least two peoples worth and see what the tyres and suspension are doing. The rears on the 850 have an amount of passive rear steer as well as having some toe in as the rear suspension is adjustable...ish.

I think I'm going to take the car to a local garage and ask them to inspect the suspension, if they can't spot anything knackered I'll get them to do a four wheel alignment and hope like hell that that cures/exorcises whatever ate the tyre.
