Odd way to answer the question. Blinking lights aren't legal in Germany, doesn't make Knog Frogs suitable for off roading...
Back to the original point - on paper it's bright enough and the beam looks quite wide. Paired with a decent helmet-light and you'd be fine for most things on a cross bike.

That's fine.
I might use it on Jermyn Street but I shall not be using it on a German Street. -

I have a Busch & Muller Lumotec IQ2 Luxos U Senso which has a cable running to the power button when I need to extend.
Can anyone see a problem with me chopping it, adding a new section in and sealing with heat shrink? Or is there a better way of doing it?
It needs to be long enough for me to run it from my rack to my bars:
its currently desinged to be mounted on the crown eyelet.

No way to open up the switch and/or light?
(you do have the newer one with the fix cable i assume (?))

Button is a bit too hard to open. I'm just going to chop and join I think.

You can sold it with. Then electric wyre (male/female), heat shrink, plus Chatterton in order to be fully waterproof. I've done it with my supernova lights as front and rear light was too far on my new bike. No problem at all.
I highly recommend supernova lights. Rear light is amazingly bright and small, even aero approved if you care.

Chatterton?

Sorry I'm french. A small kind of electrical duck tape?

Ah, right. Cheers. 3M electrical tape is good.

Anyone used an B&M werk?
Planning my lighting and charging on my new bike, and just don't fancy the B&M luxos usb for durability and would prefer to just mount it on the bike and leave it rather than a sinewave.
However anyone actually used on and have a view on how effective it is?

Cheers from a read of that, I still reckon the werk is the best option vs price for what I need it for. The cache battery included makes it great value for the price too (£50 quid from rose bikes) https://www.rosebikes.com/article/b--m-usb-werk-power-supply-and-charger/aid:639422

Anybody want a Supernova Plug? new and unused, in its box. It doesn't fit my forks (there is no hole at the bottom of them for the cable to come out, and the bung is glued in) £70 posted? (I paid £124 plus post last september!)

Just looking at your button-cable extension problem.
As I'm not really super-skilled at electronics (what kind of cable is in there? Will it be sealed enough once I'm finished?) I'd just mount the light on the right fork blade, you have bosses for a lowrider not being used.
But that's just me. I'm sure your extension idea will work if you can get the right cable.

I highly recommend supernova lights.
They're so tiny, I think they seem pretty ineffective esp in low-lit environment, like city streets with streetlights on. Give me a B&M topline any day.

Ive ordered some cable now, I did think about putting it on the boss, but there are a few issues, namely:
- cables not long enough for that
- its a very wide beam and the rim would fuck it up.
- I do run panniers on the front so they'd block it.
I've ordered some cable now, and after asking a few people who are in the know they said it should be fine to chop and add cable in as long as we use enough shrink wrap to seal it.
- cables not long enough for that

Plug III? Maybe. I'd need to check my bike(s) and then be annoyed when it doesn't fit n+1..

USB werk is pretty good, but I find I have to disconnect it entirely to stop it causing my Supernova front light to dim every few minutes. Obviously when you're charging and running a light simultaneously you wouldn't expect the light to be bright, but even when you're not charging anything off the USB it still seems to draw power from the light, though not constantly (I presume this is the cache battery topping itself up).
It's easy enough to work round - on long audaxes I just disconnected it from the wire that connects down to the hub overnight, but it's an extra bit of fiddling when you're sleep deprived. I keep meaning to look into adding some sort of inline switch in the cable to get round this, but if I was shopping again I'd probably lean towards getting the b&m light with the usb built in and taking a risk on durability.

Have you ever seen one? They're bright indeed... Even for in town use

Cable is too short

Point being, they're suitable for off roading, even their website pointed this out.
