Sorry if this has come up before. Was looking for any recommendations on scanning and printing of slide film in London? I know of Metro Imaging, any others with good quality, fair/fairer price?
Cheers

For any one who shoots polaroids or uses pack film, I'm selling my collection https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/281275/#comment12765906

Had a quick look at these.
Looks similar to what happened to ALL my Cinestill 50D film from demigapyah.
You've got a lot of banding in the colours and the detail in the darks is all gone.
Whacked curves on this quickly and you can really see the banding in the sky as well as a lot of colour noise.

Following mention of polaroids, the last time I used one was several years ago. A very standard camera, 600 film, put the pack in and it spat each one out, one after the other. I was sad. I wondered if it was because of the battery in the film pack expiring? I haven't tried again. Camera was fine when last used (a few years before that).

I'd say most likely it was the camera, I've only come across a flat battery once, and when you put the film in it doesn't do anything, no power for the camera to spit out the black card, what you can do in that instance is transfer all the films (carefully in a pitch black room or under a duvet) to an empty pack that has power. If the camera was continuously spitting out film without depressing the shutter then I'd say the ejecting mechanism was malfunctioning. Maybe a broken spring. The opposite can also happen whereby it doesn't eject at all.

Yeah that makes sense. Think I still have a long-expired pack somewhere that I was saving to use in something DIY. The camera had just been sitting on a shelf for the intervening years, as far as I know.

so good!

Thanks man. It's one of the first rolls of film that has more than 6 'keepers' that I've ever shot. I think I'm getting the hang of it :)

It's with vegetation , with people in the landscape

Bill Eggleston did crazy shit with infrared film.

Looks like the blues have degraded which happens when film gets old or too hot. The picture of girl with glass has a decent enough tonal range to play with the colours, and then apply those changes to the rest on the roll.
IMO though, once you have to start pissing about with film shots in post-production, you might as well just shoot digital.

Film soups / soaks..
..first and second try (soaking for a few hours in balsamic vinegar / soy sauce) gunked up all the things so much that despite my efforts to wash the film after soaking I wasn't able to advance the film after a few frames.
Being stubborn I used brute force, resulting in the first film being ripped, and with the second film I broke the rewind crank of an old, cheap Pentax SLR.
Now trying something less sticky - red wine..

That shot from the Hasselbad is fantastic.

Thanks.
The film was out of date and just shooting from my balcony, seems worth keeping the other stock. -

nice one
That bit of neg won't show any variation in exposure. Are they dark within the frame?
Overexposure would explain why the naturally darker shots look less messed up... but there is still loads of detail in the highlight areas so ... I'm not sure.
Maybe have a listen to see if shutter speeds vary as they should and test the meter with some silver oxide batteries?
