I'm not quite sure what you are explaining but you can hold down on a metric, say Speed, and it will present a list of fields you can switch it to. Most of them are either obvious ("x kph") or have headings ("Lap Time").
You can also set these up in the Training Pages initially but it's a bit annoying.
Perhaps you can screenshot/photo the issue?
