Guys, I'm curious about the front platform rack. Do you find it ok strapping stuff on or do you kinda wish you had sides on the rack like a wald basket? I kind of like the sides on my wald but it does look much dorkier than these!

You know what's easier?
strap a basket on it when you want similar capacity as a Wald basket.

Do you know where you can get a mount for those types of rear lights, if you don't have a rack?
-
• #881
I use two thin cable ties to mount between the seat stays when my rack's not on.

I'm looking at replacing my SS commuter and getting something that would be able to setup as a tourer/commuter/go-anywhere kind of bike.
The Genesis Croi de Fer 20 2015 is currently a good deal with prices around the £700 mark, what are peoples experience of loading these up with front and rear racks?
I have a set of 105 10 speed levers that I will use to replace the standard Tiagra and will probably change the rear mech to a medium 105 mech for around £30 and think this may be worth the investment in a Brooks...I'd really like to build from scratch but the sum of the components etc...
thanks in advance.

Hop felly.
Is that how you pronounced it?

Why you ditched the 650B idea?
-
• #888
Because he is normal sized human
-
• #889
Because I don't want to be stuck in the middle of no were because I can't find a inner that's in common size.
-
• #890
A 26" inner tube is hardly uncommon.

What would be a good carbon fork replacement for the old style genesis steel ones?
-
• #892
The genesis carbon replacement fork. Available from 18 bikes.

New flaps.
also:
I have a Busch & Muller Lumotec IQ2 Luxos U Senso which has a cable running to the power button when I need to extend.
Can anyone see a problem with me chopping it, adding a new section in and sealing with heat shrink? Or is there a better way of doing it?

Also still would like to get it painted like this:
-
• #895
Did you damaged the mudguard or something? it look quite short.
-
• #896
BTW if you want to get it painted like this, that actually can give you a chance to make some modification to the current frames before awaiting paints.
Like pump pegs for example, or slot for integrated wiring for the rear dynamo.

• #897
Yes, I'd also want eyelts on top of the fork crown for the rack. who made your rack again btw ed? id like to get a mid blade mounted one.
also no mudgaurd damage

Haulin' Colin, American I'm afraid, but I got it as it fit perfectly while allowing me to fit a low rider as well.

Can you measure the distance from your mid rack mount to fork crown mount?
http://www.rosebikes.com/article/b--m-toplight-line-small-dynamo-back-light/aid:798692 would match the front! Haven't had any experience with them though.
