  • I'm off to La Plagne on Saturday.

I've been skiing for over 25 years now and I'm always excited about going.

This year, like every other year, I'll be with my Father, his friends and my brother. The old fella's going to be 72 this year, but he's still a eager as he was when he first started it in his early forties.

I can't wait. It's very difficult to explain to anyone who hasn't done it what it actually feels like.

Despite my knackered lower limbs, I'll do what I can to enjoy it for as long as I can.

It's a nice little resort, you'll like it.

My recommendation is to get a ski pass covering the entire resort, so you'll enjoy some slope down to Villaroger.

Some of the mountain cafe/restaurants are not too bad (in term of price/food), I recall one near Villaroger that's exceptional.

  • Found it; le plein soleil (think that's the name).

  • Oh there's a run that was closed last years, but accessible if you're fairly decent, just expect to go down really slowly, as in slightly sloped through the wood.

It's the blue run heading toward Plagne Montalbert from the Adrets ski lift (right side of maps).

I've just booked a cheeky long weekend in Belle Plagne for the first weekend of March.

In the past, I've only ever been there in early January (my parents bought a week's timeshare in Bellecote back in the 70s), so it will be interesting to ski there with no schools & students.
