I didn't know him really. Only a couple or three rides I did with him, but it's clear how well loved he was by the outpourings on here and elsewhere. My condolences to his family and many friends.

Couldn't get my head round it when I heard this devasting news on Saturday. No closer to understanding now. It's been hugely saddening as the reality of reading about it hits, but there's been so many kind and funny words posted here, it's been comforting too. Bless you BDW. You gave us all many, many Good Times. x

Sitting with you after a club run with a coffee and one of the rollies you always shared. Talking about the ride or the club or just whatever came to mind. Or just enjoying sitting. I miss you Boss.

RIP Wayne you beautiful man.
so many moving words. @markyboy @stelle @dan those really capture how i think many of us feel.
prompted to think about wayne so much recently. one is because I am doing the Paris-Roubaix this year and it is a ride that always makes me think of wayne and his accounts of it and how much he loved it. as Bill said he is a hell of a rider among other things. and finding a picture in one of the threads really does it for me.
i will try and find an WAC sticker or a fake colnago snipes cap or even borrow a grupetto shirt for the ride. all of those things will be some small tribute. but mainly I am just going to ride it with the gaffer in my thoughts. and sink some good java along the way.
will miss you massively boss.

So moved by all the messages of love and respect for BDW.
Only met you once gentle sir, at LMNH to collect my treasured CUTTERS T. It puts a smile on my face every time I put it on, especially in 'important' academic meetings:-D
I shall be wearing it all week in your honour (odours permitting...) and explaining it's message (working class pride) to the effete bourgeoisie;-)
Your time was far too short but your impact huge and lovely, RIP you wonderful man.
My sincerest condolences to your family and friends xx -

Genuinely saddened by his passing though, and reading these pages, I feel I missed an opportunity to meet one of lifes great people.
Lots of love to all who knew him.Ride in the clouds, BDW.

Despite knowing for over a day now I still can't make sense of this, how sad and what a shock.
I didn't know him at all well but he was obviously lovely and my thoughts are with all the people here that knew him better, his friends and family.
I'll be wearing my Cutters t-shirt when I can over the next few days too. I love that line about the 'two Pantanis'!

Someone only truly dies when they are forgotten and not remembered anymore.....So we can keep him 'alive' by remembering him and standing for his values and beliefs...that way he is still with us.

Oh Wayne, I'm speechless.
Such a big and huggy presence whenever we meet up in London or go for a ride. You are much much loved and will be greatly missed, gentle giant.
You are one of the good spirits of this forum and we'll have a proper knees-up for you soon.
Much love, Wayne. It truly has been an honour.

Exchanged a few bits of kit over snail mail with cheery notes, having read hundreds of peaceful measured posts of his. Thoughts of early lfgss would be associated with his presence, hence the honourable reappearance of original forumers .
I never knew him but felt like I did
May the wind and the rain and the morning dew the mist of the dawn and the rising sun bless him every day.
Forgive if I'm wrong but wasn't 'it's all about the ride' his design?
Pink.
Black.
Bold.
I still wear those few tees with that statement all the time.
Goodnight Big Daddy Wayne
