The sensible thing to do. Is to sell off all the bits you dont really want/need, and buy the set up you most want.
This was my plan when swaping my off-road bike from rigid 29er to bouncy 26er. So far I've sold nothing and am currently buying used parts for the 26er to compensate. Pure laziness.
I don't like letting go of stuff though. I just need it back later on or regret losing money on stupidly spendy parts in the first place. I'd rather let them rot in storage like an idiot, it seems.
