I know this is going to make me sound a massive cnut but...
It really, really doesn't.
I've got no time for CCs riding in maurading bunches, barking things and generally being all 'club', I really haven't.
It's like seeing a bunch of drunken twonks on a stag, makes me embarrassed to be near them and also a cyclist/male.
I'm going to register a new club with BC and get a top and socks and everything and call it Groucho CC. And no-one may join.

I know this is going to make me sound a massive cnut but...
I've come across Penge CC on weekend rides quite a few times; they seem to be very much aimed at newbies and older riders (the groups I've seen are anyway).
Every time I've seen them they are literally all over the place. Today there was a bunch of about 30 of them and they were spread all over the road, about 3 abreast, on a Chesham Court Rd (?) in Kent which is pretty fast and busy, none of them had proper lights despite about 50m visibility, and cars were stacked up behind them. Despite this they didn't seem to have the nous to get in single file. Other times I've seen them they're doing similar stupid stuff and generally seem to have no road awareness whatsoever.
It's great that there;s newer riders and 'vets' out on a spin, but they are almost a bit of a liability TBH...
