  • Wrangler?

    Blue harbour thankyouverymuch.

  • Picked up an APC jacket in the End sale so now I can go full raw denim wanker. I've already been told that I'll be disowned the moment I do

  • It's the way forward... trust me!

  • Hilarious chat on not washing denim.

Just visit Japan and chat to any of the bods / shops where you can pick up some of the best quality denim found anywhere in the world and even intimate you don't wash your jeans and they'll look at you like you're insane.

In the long run it damages the denim more quickly, fact. Washing doesn't have to be in a machine at 30-40. Anyhow, not the time or place.

Go ahead and take pics of your unwashed denim. Rad!

Overwhelming reason the above posts as to why selvedge isn't fore as I have the sweatiest crotch in Christendom and it's hard enough washing normal jeans let alone letting slelvedge ones hang and air, fuck that shit!

Looooaaads of it in TKMaxx all the time!!! Too hot for jeans here, think I've worn trousers a dozen times or so since we got here...

    Not complaining... 😋

    THIS

  • just treated myself to some Eternal 811's

  • What do they recommend?

  • Put a fresh nicotine patch on before going to bed, cue super lucid dreams... One of which was going into TKMaxx and seeing rail after rail of Denim & Supply selvage... Stupid brain...

  • My guitars almost got nicked too, only saved by Brixton graffiti artist @tizerid... They took most of the flight cases tho'... I was living in my old flat above Mike's Cafe on Blenheim Crescent... Fucking weird... #nicotinedreams

  • Already doing it.

I don't care about the sick fades/whiskers etc, I care about having comfortable jeans that look okay(ish). I've never been one to turn the hems up so others can see how much my jeans cost or how they should be wearing in, and if you're coming round to my house and you want to sit down, your jeans had better have been washed in the last week or so....

  • You go to Japan and in some places, they're still wearing wooden shoes....

  • Depends on the brand of course but let's take The Flat Head as an example (14oz, raw as standard most of the time).

Before you've even put them on it takes 2 washes to get the shrinkage out of the cotton. The build quality and dyeing process is so good that you loose virtually no colour from a 40 degree wash, no spin.

I stick to a hand wash, reasonably warm, non bio and a hang dry. Cotton and denim needs a tremendous amount of water to grow well. A wash to clean and rejuvenate goes a long way.

  • Sure, but that is apropos of nothing.

The concensus within the country that produces the worlds best denim is that washing is fine. This is good for me.

  • Speaking of Japan; I'm going to have a few days in Tokyo in april. Where should I go to geek denim and proper leather footwear? I'd like to see/feel the best of the best, but also if there's any cheap outlets or other budget shopping advice.

    Cheers.

  • Whilst searching for some light blue selvedge found these. Holy fuck.

  • What was it exactly that you typed into Google to get that as a result?

  • big john ruri are the best!

  • I was on the ASOS sale page. Because I'm cheapo.

  • You never struck me as an ASOS kind of guy.

  • I'm absolutely not. I just followed a link and then a link and before I knew it...

    BooM. Hairy thighs!

  • area called ueno, next to station there is a great indoor market , one place i saw stacked to the rafters with vintage denim , and there is street market around the area with lots of interesting little shops too !
