Yeah it's getting kinda crowded at home so soon it'll have to be a strictly one-in-one-out policy. Every time I pledge that's it something else seems to come along. I've got a few bits to move on next couple of weeks, donor bike frames, leftover components etc then I may have to sell a couple of bikes as I'm going to concentrate on finding a saronni coloured super pista. Something like the one in the picture here.

unless something special comes up at right money I don't bother
all of the brands pistas I've seen are pretty much all of the money nowadays, I came across an old Gent who used to ride motorbikes around a track as far as I managed to understand, and he had a rabobank master pista in my size , agreed to sell , then sold on an online auction site , at market determined value, so that's the closest I've come
i have 1 pista project
(Eddy and Ernie had it together, so excuse the post) -

Good philosophy indeed. I try and adopt the same, can't afford the exotic stuff and scour the selling sites for stuff that catches my eye or has some potential. I think if I had the dollar to just go any buy anything eBay etc has to offer there'd be no fun in that. The fun's in the looking and I still get a buzz from little 'finds'
Another project, now why doesn't that surprise me ;-) -
• #1536
tbh, my buzz has always been getting them on the floor and building them up, the main body of what i have was bought on the floor via bike flipping, nearly 200 bikes, when i started collecting in 09, it was easier
sourcing them like this is pretty much over now, unless you stumble across things other do not see, or , have no knowledge of -

thanks for the pics JusCos. They pretty much disprove that girls' supposed infallible clover cut-out theory don't they
-

Those BB shell cutouts are sure hard to decipher.

That's certainly what makes it very enjoyable. Hours spent stripping, cleaning, rebuilding, tinkering then in my case constantly changing until I get just the look I'm after. Amazing how such a small detail like rim colour, seat post, bar tape etc can completely change the look of a bike. I know they're all personal taste from an owners perspective unless you're trying to replicate a historical piece but some folks have just got it whilst others conjure up some fucking horrors. Most of them live in anti porn but crop up on occasion in porn too.
I think I've read your site from front to back over time, love it! -

Nice bike. The last 30 years have been good to it by the look of things.

Finished building, cleaning etc the blue Super, yet to decide whether the Dura seatpost looks better or the one that's on it but nothing's really ever finished :-). Have got a Dura Ace headset too for it but that's another day as well.

And the Nuovo Mexico got a black stem in the end, new bar tape and swapped out the outer ring for a Panto'd one my Pal had. Changed the wheels too for some Nisi Moncalieris on Record hubs. No wear to the braking surface, they're pretty mint and of course they're Italian. Rear caliper issue addressed too and now it's got a 46mm reach instead of the 55.5mm from off the donor bike. Very very happy with how it's turned out.
