Peter Dench realized early in his career that you don’t have to travel to the ends of the earth to make compelling photos; sometimes you can just take a walk around your block. Through this meticulous study of his own backyard, Dench, a London-based photographer born in 1972, has become a keen observer of the quirkier aspects of British life and human nature more broadly.
Dench will be presenting 20 years of work - from the barstools of Britain to the benches of Bulgaria - at this year’s Photography Show, in Birmingham, England, on Monday, March 21.
