  • The MLS is getting better all the time. Of course it's still no better than championship level, but they are starting to get better players, earlier in their career.

    There is a huge fanbase, and plenty of TV interest, if they don't screw it up, it could be a major league in a few years.

  • Agreed i was very surprised how it has grown and the large level of support it gets, with was chatting with a bloke the other day his son (15/16ish) is great all rounder at sport and he wants him to keep at soccer and not go near American football because of the punishment the body takes even at junior level, i was surprised as this bloke loves his American football.

    Yeah, injuries and concussions especially are a huge talking point in American Football and Ice Hockey over here right now. A lot of people are realising that taking serious blows to the head, below the age of 18, for that 1% chance you might make the big time, is not a good trade off.

    In addition, playing football is very cheap for kids, compared to the costs to buy all the pads and equipment for those sports.

    As such, a lot of parents I know, push their kids away from those sport, and towards football.
