Seal Skin Winter Extra Warm do the job for me. These keep the heat in well. I tend to get cold fingers quickly. If you have warm hands they may be too hot.

Dr Chalfie. I use rack and pannier. I don't believe my left is more restricted than the right.
Might try aspirin to see if any blockage can be shifted.

I bought some Sportful Fiandre gloves. Tested them by filling them with water and indeed they seemed waterproof. It was absolutely torrential rain the next day so I decided to go out as I have some other bits and bobs I wanted to test.
The water was hitting my jacket (shiny waterproof type) and pouring down the arms then onto my gloves. In theory that should have been fine, but between the glove itself and the cuff part (both of which are waterproof) there is a join which isn't. As a result the gloves kept filling with water. At one point I had to stop to invert the gloves and tip the water out! In anything other than torrential, I usually wear a softshell type jacket that the water doesn't cascade down my arms as much and in those conditions the gloves are fine. They're warmer than I thought they'd be when I saw them in the shop. At first the fit felt a bit tight on one of my fingers, but after wearing them in a bit they now fit 'like a glove'.Shame they didn't seam seal the joint thought! Might have a look online and see if I can get some silicon seam sealer or something.

I had cold thumbs in my defeet today, although it was fucking cold and they were quite wet. Might be time to see if my Aldi lobsters are still knocking about.

Currently looking for some commuting gloves that aren't too expensive, keep my hands warm but aren't too thick, have gel for the palms, index tip which works with mobiles and won't fall apart after a few weeks.
Any thoughts / recommendations for some/all of these criteria?

So the Planet-X 365 Race gloves arrived. They're thinner than I'd hoped.
They're probably about as warm as the Tuff gloves they're replacing (which are full of holes).
I was blowing hot air through them this morning and I certainly wouldn't enjoy much more than my 30min commute with them on in this sub-zero temp range. They're quite comfy though and the gripper is nice. Think they have a phone tip finger too. So, I like them, but they're not warm enough for these temps. Not sure how durable they'll be - they are quite thin wetsuit type material.

I am waiting for my Rapha deep winter gloves to arrive.
My hands froze on my commute and barely defrosted standing around teaching.
Come on postie, make me happy when I get home.

I had planned to wear my toasty Spesh Semi-Lobsters but I was already fucked off with something else and forgot to get them. Nevermind. It's not like I've not already made a habit of being stupidly under-dressed for the last 10 years of cycling.

You'll not be disappointed although this morning I did need to have my liners too!!

Forecast mild weather at the end of this week. Think you've missed this arctic spell.

STURMFIST kept my fingers nice and warm this morning :)

Sturmfist sounds like something you should not Google search for at work.

I have a set of Helly Hansen merino liners that I got on the cheap and decathlon's top of the range winter glove. £35 in total I think. I only really need the liners for standing around outside and if it's cold in the mornings. But it's a great combo for cheapskates. Gloves are waterproof too. I know everyone hates decathlon, but these gloves tick all the winter boxes.

I know everyone hates decathlon
Do they?
Are you thinking of Halfords?
Or Evans?
Or BLB?

I think mine have lasted approx "a season" of cross racing.

Anyway. I have the beginnings of psoriatic arthritis in my little finger and my thumb. And today fucking knacked. I usually ride with liners plus de feet over the top for my commute.
What's out there as a single glove, that's "racy", and is reasonably priced? It's the wind more than the temp that bothers me. Would like to use for promuting and whenever I actually get out on my bike.

They were a bit chilly this morning (1.5degC) but they've been ok so far.
I actually found a pair of full finger gloves that I forgot I bought so I didn't even need to buy these PX ones.
The Altura ones I found don't have 'phone fingers' so are fucking useless when it comes to bashing stupid Garmins on longer rides. Ok for commutes though.

And liner when its colder?

I like/d them. Stitching has come loose on thumb. Otherwise, grippy, light, warm (though not worn them out out for longer than 1 hr).

"A softshell, full-finger glove that gives both a high level of dexterity and protection against wet and cold conditions."

Still wearing £4 Lidl gloves, probably the best cycling purchase I've ever made.

I've just ordered a pair of the Hirzl Grippp thermo gloves. Hope they're good. The regular Grippp tour full finger gloves are great but not quite warm enough for these new depths of winter.
