  • DT Swiss R24 disc with Schwalbe One 28c.

  • should be ok, schwalbe come up narrower than they say (even on a wider rim).

  • Nice one, cheers!

  • 45mm would be more appropriate and wouldn't look elderly.

    says gramps

  • the fixing point behind the bb between the chain stays is knackered. Any smart work arounds for fixing a fender there. Bit annoying as I got the frame because it had fender mounts.

  • Temporary - zip ties
Longer term - single p-clip on one side of chainstay
    Forevah - repair knackered bit

    How knackered?
    Or knackered how?

  • Last night I fitted 35mm SKS raceblades to 28mm clement strada lgg, on open pro rims.

They fitted well, the stays were already cut as I'd fitted them over 25mm paselas before and I just tweaked the length slightly and they fitted fine. Different guards but 35mm SKS still, hope that helps.

  • Quit your whining. Those are Chromoplastic's.

My Longboard snapped. And it was fitted by the now head mechanic at Madison Genesis.

  • Mine fit, bit tight tough. Rims are 20mm internal, would be easier with a slimmer one.
If you have problems bend the stays on the mudguard out to give you more room, or get some 40mm PDWs

  • They can fit, but it's tough to get them totally silent without the guard a long way off the tyre. 25/23 are a lot easier to set up.

  • Thanks, all your answers are very helpful, if a little contradictory. They'll be going on a Kinesis 4S disc so there's a fair bit of room for them. I reckon I'll get it all built up and then go to some shops and offer the guards up to it, see what might work. I Kinesis reckon 32mm with guards should work but I reckon that'd be tight...

  • 45mm and 28mm will definitely fit, 30mm tyres will be standard in future so that'll also have a better chance of fitting than 32mm.

  • Finally fitted VO black hammered mudguards! Had them for the last month and a bit, could never find the time...

  • Solid shape.

  • Are g berthoud better than velo orange or are they pretty much the same?

Also who's a good lbs in central London to fit them?

  • Cheers I think p clip around the chain stay bridge is the way to go

  • Also who's a good lbs in central London to fit them?

    SBC cycles

  • Cheers haven't heard of them before I'll check them out

  • Are g berthoud better than velo orange or are they pretty much the same?

One is steel, and the other is alu.

Steel is always better as it's stronger, but VO come in a wide range of size and shape.

  • i fitted my longboards last night, the front one seems to have really good coverage but i'm a bit worried it's a bit low?

    (height from floor approx 35mm)

I've mounted it on the back of the fork.

You've just answered your own question, and provided the solution.

  • @veLLo That bike is so good. Would be great with some white mudflaps, for that hint of yesteryear.
