It would be very challenging and expensive to create the Carbon-glass composite on the fretboard and the neck of the guitar. Maybe try to just copy the shape and use an Ebony fretboard like the new NiteFly has.

Yeah - that's exactly the problem; I don't really see the point of making a bolt on / through neck version of that guitar as it would be inferior regardless of the quality of the carpentry - anything I made would just be a nice looking (heavy) copy rather than something really comparable.

Love Wilko's style - Paul Weller pretty much copped his entire thing eh?

Based on the comments Parker Fly guitars receive in general, I cannot promise you that a lot of people will agree it is pretty..
Keep me updated with your progress as it is very strange for a luthier to replicate an "ugly" looking guitar.. -

I'm an extremely amateur luthier ;) Personally I love them, though the top horn digs a bit on me. I've just been looking into carbon / wood bonding, might be doable...

Well maybe if you search for carbon-glass composite raw material in the Chinese online market, you may find some gold there..
Parker used to bake the guitars in pizza ovens using an air-sealed plastic bag..
And there are neck tests, after the baking process, where a big guy stands and jumps on the neck and it doesn't bend at all... -

Yeah, they use big autoclaves, but maybe something could be done with a vacuum press; I've no idea really. There's a little queue of builds lined up first, and the rate I work on them I've probably got at least a year to 18 months to think about this before I get around to it.

That clip makes me a bit weepy every time I watch it (at least three times a week)...
Don't suppose anyone on here has bought a Rusty Box direct from Tronographic? I'd really like to buy one but if there are customs charges it would make it pretty pricey.
