With a budget of around 1500£ what do one look for if one wants hydro disc and 1/2 x 11 speed?

You could go for Ridley, Focus, Scott?
Hydro brakes on a Ridley will set you back just over £1500, Focus do SRAM for £1300 and Scott for the same price... was going for a Scott myself but don't want to wait till May. -
