that looks nice and slim too (German company)

Or for HSSB points...a carbon wrap Alter stem. But probably will go for nuts money :/

  • yeah had seen m after I posted.. lets try..

  • Even that seems to have hipster tax these days :):)

But yes worth a try (and where I found Mr balk my yellow fluoro balk track)

  • Put it all together with help of Le Manfriend.

Well Sugino 75 + 111 token ISO bb + single speed shop 17t cog = chainline miles out.

Can't even cycle it, that much out. FFS.

Works with 107 JIS miche BB (heresy!) on Balk though. Off to measure and order new bb tonight. Grrr... :/

  • Known issue - Get a Centaur 111mm.

  • Tx, will do.

So: 111 ISO Token = too wide
    111 ISO Centaur = ok?

How does that work, as spindles are same width and interface? :)

  • They're not the same.

2 pair of 75s, both spot on with Centaur 111mm

  • Thanks.

FFS,I am assuming if it says ISO it, eh, is ISO. No wonder it sits a mile out!

Tom Ritchey old BB also is ISO, I may give that a go and report back. Just £10 on e-bay and in 110 wide.

  • Well, here it is.

Needs new stem (need to work out fit, it's 10 on Mr Balk but there stem is higher, probably need 9 for a slammed stem) & too bad Nitto S65 doesn't seem to come in black in 27.0.

I'll see if somebody can ream frames, but not hopeful :)

Quite like it in silver. Bike looks nice.

  • @IR chainring arrived, thanks very much! I also haz stickers now, where to put them...

Took out the Token 111 "ISO" BB.
The Ritchey 110 ISO one should be here tomorrow...better luck this time I hope. Bah.

  • And on the road...(in work mode) the chain is very noisy, need to check if cog chainline/chain chainline (42mm) agree.

Now I need to make up my mind: Black post/cranks, silver post/chainring... It would be nice to have another fork, this one has clearance for 32 tyres, the original for 23 and it lifts the front quite a bit. One that can only 25 would be ideal, bit of room for the road and shouldn't lift the front as much.

  • Yeah, no, dunno... black/silver and silver have my pref... (seatposts are XTR ones, the black one is tricky to get for non rip-off prices, silver is easton alu, like the Dura Ace post and also tricky to get)

  • Phone bike shop but they can't ream to 27.2 too risky in 853.

High end vintage MTB or modern Ritchey it is then for a black post.

  • nice little bike!

can i add a suggestion? keep silver seatpost, get silver stem? it would look much classier.

    silver cranks/hubsandspokes/seatpost/stem + black chainring/rims/saddle/bartape.

    aka silver "inside", black outside

  • "U vraagt, wij draaien" ;)

  • With a silver mutant, I've a little ITM Eclypse too in the same size. But going to have to strip the tape off to get the bar through...so going to keep it like so for a bit until I'm sure what to do.

L: black ring, R: silver ring.

Now that it's comfier (shorter stem, seatpost up a bit, not a stupid heavy backpack) I'm beginning to see why these frames are so popular, it goes like a rocket.

  • haha!

i dont really like the droopydicklook of the mutant, but i think the eclypse would fit great. old school ahead without removable faceplate is a, uhh ballache though indeed. but pretty!

black chainring all the way. see previous comment.

  • i apologise for all that testosteron sprouting from the former comment. only just realised the unfortunate choice of metaphores...

  • It's hard to avoid with the shape of the stem :p

  • I've found an XTR post. It's the exact same as the NJS Easton ones (bar the branding obv...) so that's in the post.

I still wouldn't mind trying an alter but the odds of one in 9cm and not spending £100 aren't high...

Expect another update soon once the post is in I've found the patience to try to wrench the handlebars into the ITM which will be A Challenge.

  • Right, going to order another fork. Straight blades, 25c clearance (the All City 32 which lifts the front end by a cm...), and with a brake hole.

I'm thinking of Max or another aero shaped blade tubing.

That leaves the option of a crown or lugless/unicrown. I think a lugless style fits better, as the original fork was unicrown.

But as this is a CP fire away with ideas/comments :)
