I had my metalwork taken out a couple of years after breaking one collarbone. In to hospital at eight in the morning, out by eleven. Bliss from the moment I came round after the anaesthetic; I hadn't realised that the metal had been bothering me as much as it obviously had. I felt like going straight back to work - which, at the time, was principally heavy lifting. If it ever happened again, I'd have no qualms getting rid of the metal as soon as.

I think i'm going to have to go back to the Whittington, since Christmas the metal work has been causing me regular pain and discomfort.
