Cool, good to know, ta.

Fantastic, with Mondrian inspired mudguards too!

Hey Loic, I bought some of the reproofing wax Carradice sell (as well as a patch of the duck fabric for repairs) but I've not got 'round to using it yet. I'd be interested to know how you get on.
Haven't done it yet on bag. Only experience I have is waxing Carradice poncho... Heating up tin of wax bain marie style, and applying on fabric with a piece of cloth, preferably heavy ish cotton or linen, something that doesn't leave fluff on... And putting more onto stitches to seal them... I suppose I'll do the same on bag but wanted feedback if someone had tried, as fabric is thicker than poncho, and weave less tight too...

I like this. I may copy it.

I've had Carradice super C for a while now, initially used it touring a couple of times on an SQR mount and it was fine. Have been using it a couple of years directly mounted onto Brooks saddle loops but have changed bike to one that I want to be able to remove it easily for 'faster' riding.
Now the bag keeps falling to one side when I'm riding, one leather strap keeps going round the SQR hook and ending up making the bag lopsided. It almost looks like the holes in the back of the bag weren't cut in the right position, but I'm certainly not about to question Sue's handiwork!
Starting to get annoying because I can feel it start hitting the back of my thigh and it makes any rocking much more pronounced. Anyone else experienced this? Would new leather straps rectify it or is the bagman qr a better option than the SQR? I already have the normal bagman, so am reluctant to fork out for another mounting system.
Any thoughts?

Could you bodge/attach a 'stop' of sorts to prevent the strap sliding around?

How about round and round with electrical tape till you create a big enough ridge?
-
• #785
Yeah that kinda thing.

Yep, happens to me too.
Although actually in my case it doesn't hit me, but it does rock a bit.Making sure the bottom strap is tight reduces the rocking though.

I've used this kind of thing with success

A carradice is only ever improved with a bit of bodging.

Like what you've done there @pastry_bot. Might have to give that a go as I'm getting a bit peeved with the SQR on mine slipping around the seat post, AND rubbing on the mudguard.

Bought a zipped roll to mount on the handlebars of our tandem - to match the Nelson Longflap on the back. By chance, the zipped roll was made by Emma, who made the Longflap a few years earlier. Emma moves up a place on the leaderboard.

Finchingfield?
Outside the M25, been done, you haven't posted the previous tag...
Ooops, sorry though this was the BTOB thread for a moment.

This is brilliant. Especially given that the current tag on BTOB is mine.
But yes, it's Finchingfield, en route to Bury St Edmunds from Brentwood.

Does anyone use a Carradice Alston with a modern saddle ? Do your legs rub on the leather straps ? Considering buying one

Just purchased a camper long flap off the classifieds here. Is there a way to stop it hitting my thighs, without spending £30 on a bagman?

Put more/heavier stuff in it so it hangs lower.

.
It's an offcut from a steerer, with a top cap and a long bolt through the bag, and a nut on the inside.
