From memory, they're warm - I've even used mine for skiing.
I'd also use one for weight loss purposes.

Woolie Boolies!

That's what I thought, but they've only got them left at that price in size XS.

Sie sind sicher. Lange Socken?
-
• #24206
Ah. I don't like long socks (Lange Socken? Nein danke). The 'half-height' ones are the right height for me but over twice the price of Rapha even with the reduction!
Also they're both a bit 'jaunty' for me to be honest. Sorry.

I feel the cold on my feet and love the woolie boolies for cold weather riding. They fit perfectly and are nice and toasty. Might pick up some pro teams for summer

I got a free pair of chapeau winter socks a while ago with a purchase of a rain jacket. The rain jacket, though fitting really nicely, did not work at all. Returned it, got refunded, kept the socks. THe socks are really good.

Today in Helsinki used in -21.c a pair of merino socks bought from XXL(Nordic sports chain store) for 1,90€ with my lake 303's.
But go ahead and stock on rapha. Just because you can't find cheaper socks in th UK does not mean that they do not exist. Also not too keen on rapha socks quality wise. Pretty ok but over priced.

By now we are both knocking back the wine, the only difference being that Kaurismäki tends to empty the glass in one gulp.

no good will come of this.
Amazed that you, @Bainbridge @Chalfie and @jaygee were able to post so many times about this ride, in this thread given the amount of emails flying about in that sodding chain today.

XC skiing socks.
Nice warm woolen socks that are well suited to cycling, last well, and aren't mad expensive. It's basically all I wear for everything for half the year.I still have rapha merino for mild rides. Because they are fancy looking.

I sweated a bit headed into work in mine today but was perfectly comfortable in the icy wind and hail on the way home, pitzips were closed too.
It's tricky as we've lost our traditional seasons so hard to plan riding wardrobe.

Even better when you took the bus in the challenging conditions early this morning.

Did you see me? Creepy.
I had three bikes at work so I've been riding home this week and getting the train in.

Anyone have the Pro Team winter hat and the normal winter hat? My head was freezing on this evenings ride. I have a large one so want which ever has the most stretch.
-
• #24222
Pro team softshell hat is a fucking shambles of a head accoutrement. Big bastard line across your forehead 2 secs after putting it on because of the crap construction-worst Rapha purchase ever. I was going to punt it back on ebay but my conscience stopped me thinking of the poor cunt that would be disappointed next.

ha! Its my fav bit of winter kit .. even more than PT jacket.
Classic softshell looks like good value at the moment.
Has everyone gone off them because of the loose fit relative to the Pro Team stuff? Or are they a bit warm for most UK riding?
