"Besic and Deulofeu made a big difference. Not sure why martinez insists on playing Kone when he can't play as a number 10 and offer nothing on the wing"
Welcome to the world of the tactically inept Martinez. Seen it most the season, all very dull

He's started 6 on the trot up until the Stoke game then silly bollocks drops him for some reason.
He's one of our main threats and Kone is absolute horseshit -

it wasn't funny at the time, hadn't even started playing was just a pre kick about kick about...

Any injury on a weight-bearing joint is agony.
A year of careful rehabilitation after I shattered the back of my patella about 18 years ago.

A point is better than none. Classy Alli goal. Vertonghen and Toby kept Lukaku quiet today. Carroll had a good game today.
Leicester we play twice. One in the cup and in the league.

That Alli bloke is special.

Were you doing a Cruyff turn? 😂

surprised this morning, by how big a write up Dele Alli is getting in the papers, seems he's the next big thing! He's getting all the plaudits, but Dier feels to me more fundamental to the way we play, his ability to track, drop between the centre halves, play the ball out of defence as well as provide that pre emptive wall for his defenders means he's kind of irreplaceable. Bentaleb and Mason can't do that job and for whatever reason Bentaleb seems to have fallen down the pecking order - hoping he gets some playing time in the cups to bring him back into favour...

with chelsea also playing well at the weekend, be mindful of the transfer window.. you don't want to lose Dele Alli too soon.
-
• #122644
Dier made a couple of absolute clangers towards the end of the game though - taking really stupid risks and losing possession in parts of the field he shouldn't even have been in. I think he's a great player but those mistakes could easily have cost us a point. He needs to cut that stuff out and be a bit more mature in pressure situations.
Alli is fantastic - the tekkers for his goal was A*. The only think I'm worried about at the moment is Man U or similar coming in for Pochettino at the end of the year.

pretty sure Alli isn't for sale and won't be for the next couple of seasons.
Remember we've got a new stadium to fill (fingers crossed) come 2018-19, so the young core on relatively manageable wages should be good until then. With this topsy turvy season so far, we've stepped into a position which is probably a year or two too soon, we still need to learn how to grind out wins when playing badly or below par, and to accept and revel in the pressure of being contenders. Our youth might get us through the latter, the former you'd have to discuss with the Sheriff..

Cryuff turn?
Are you sure? -
• #122647
See Arsenal.

• #122648
are we talking spelling or the actual event itself?
Because I'm pretty sure, seeing how I was in a cast from hip to ankle for six weeks, and I wasn't drunk, that it was an attempt to replicate the dutch master's turn which did for my left knee.. -
• #122649
I had you down as a rabona paneka "ow my knee" kind of guy.

Anyway, Chelsea looked decent last night.
Probably our best game in nearly a year.Onwards and upwards!
Ball retention.
