I've got one of these: http://road.cc/content/review/169421-adidas-pluvius-jacket
£80 on Wiggle at the moment. I used to have a Pro Team Race Cape and I prefer the Adidas. Fit is very similar, except one size down (Rapha PT Large = Adidas Medium) and a bit longer in the body, which works for me. Quality is on par, both well made, nice stretchy fabric. Neither have ever let any water in. Adidas feels more breathable, but that may be down to vents. Both pack down to a similar size (small enough to roll up and stuff into a pocket, but will fill pocket and stick out the top, not like a Sportful Hotpack where you can fit other stuff in the pocket too).
Current jacket (old Campag with poor man's GoreTex) is on its last legs. Intending to replace it with a Gabba (for longer, definitely wet rides) and also with another packable, lightweight rain jacket for commuting and for forthcoming tours (in summer, where I'll be trying to pack minimal kit).
Would like something non-flappy but also non-shouty/non-fluro. What sort of thing should I be considering?
Have looked at various Rapha offerings and I like the look of the PT Race Cape, assuming a new one without the data print is released. Rain Jacket is also interesting.
Not sure how packable various gore options are?
Wondering if it's better to look at a non-cycling specific manufacturer for something that's a bit more casual or tour friendly?
