Less chain, less slap, better shifting (probably tiny difference), and mech less likely to get hit while riding.
Go medium if it will work.

Why not go for 160mm rotors instead?
-
• #1456
so my di2 bike has sat a little unloved for 2 months, and now appears to be dead, strangely though nothing seems to be happening when i plug it in, no lights on the charger either... any ideas?
-
• #1457
I already have 160mm rotors on there :)

Is it plugged into a laptop? Is the laptop on? Unplug and plug it in again?
I charge mine with one of my laptops and it doesn't seem to enable the USB juice unless it's on, maybe even logged in, I can't remember but not like my other machine.

Hopefully it just needs to stand charging for a bit.
I needed a replacement battery though. Same symptoms. My bike hadn't had more then a few days off though.

Both front and back? Do you need adapters at each end?

Went to my local bike shop today and ascertained it is definitely the battery, have you just ordered a new one or are you trying to make a warranty claim? I've had the bike a year but have only had to charge it 3 times, the last one was before my last race in November and that was only 40k so there's will have been plenty of charge left in the battery.

I bought my gearset from starbike a year ago.
They warranty replaced it pretty much without question. Not sure where it is though. Hopefully it's arrived and the neighbors have my collection slip. Bored of singlespeeding on the turbo.

Ta, have emailed the shop I bought it from and will hopefully hear back tomorrow when they reopen for the year....
Shop been in touch and have dropped battery off, they'll be in touch with Madison on Monday so hopefully be sorted soonish.
Have ordered a new one so will hold onto it until I have and answer and then return it, not in any rush as I have some viral infection that is stealing all my energy anyway...

yes and yes :)
Front needed a 20mm spacer/adapter for postmount and rear needed a IS to postmount adapter. Here you can see the front spacer:

Can you use the internal battery charger to charge (and update firmware on) an external battery via the 3/5 port junction?
-
• #1466
As far as I know you can't. You can't even change settings without using the older external connector

I've bought a frame that can be used with electronic shifting, but I'll not use that feature.
Do you know any online shop that sells the blanking grommets/plugs for the 6mm holes (seat tube and right chainstay)?? I've been trying to find any kind of info, and also emailed Kinesis but still no response.

About to pull the trigger on some RS785s. I assume they don't come with the bleed kit. Where is the cheapest place to buy a full kit, most sites seem to split the bits up.
-
• #1472
I got the RS685 kit and that came with oil and a couple of bits of piping. No syringe or funnel though, both of which are pretty vital. I ordered a kit off eBay for a tenner or so with the funnel etc. I guess you could get syringes from a chemist or something? And probably worth checking what your kit actually includes first.

The funnel and syringes aren't listed, but the mineral oil is.
