Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right place but...
I made this guitar a few months ago and have just gotten round to fitting a pickup/internal mic. I thought it would be cool to have them in series, each going through their own pot so I can blend them and then have them go into a pre amp. The pre amp's got one of those tiny mini jack inputs so the lines from mic/pickup run to the same cable and plug in to the pre amp.
Anyway, the problem I'm having is that I can get each signal to go through its pot and work by itself but as soon as I connect them both together it's like the mic line is completely draining the pickup's signal. The pot I'm using for the mic is one I stole from another guitar but I don't see how this would effect it. I've got all the grounds wired up fine and I tried to fit a diode to make sure the signal wasn't doing some kind of short circuit but the resistance from the diode was too much for the tiny signal.
This is probably a simple case of user error, if there's something I'm missing please let me know.
