Santa brought me some merino liner gloves. Very nice. Probably pricey. Probably destroy them in month.

I'm a big fan and have had one for years but it doesn't. It will cope with short showers and very light rain but if it is properly cold and wet you will get cold and wet.

My Torm long sleeve jersey has almost worn out.
Would I be better investing in the standard LS jersey or is the brevet worth the extra £25?

If the moths don't get them first.

I'd spend the additional £25 just for the front chest pocket on the brevet jersey. It's just the right size for my phone and I can actually hear it when it rings and I'm out riding, and it's useful to have your phone handy for maps or photographs. Obviously I've never put a brevet card in there...

I always found the standard LS Jersey to be a bit too thin to be useful. Is the brevet thicker?

The very first Rapha Brevet jerseys came with brevet cards in the pocket.

Obviously I've never put a brevet card in there...
The very idea. Good to know though. I like the idea of the high vis stripes too, especially as I want a black one.

Rapha says "A visible, warm garment for long rides where versatility is paramount" so I presume the warm bit means it is thicker than a standard jersey but haven't seen them side-by-side.

It's OK I've got a pile of old ones at home.

If it helps, I wore mine today with a merino sleeveless base and a brevet gilet today and I was toasty. Not remotely cold.

Anyone know if chartreuse is coming back? I fancy a brevet gilet but I'm not sure I like the green or coral.

Nein.

Brevet gilet toasty.
The Assos Blitzfeder is actually lighter, more wind resistant and best quality, not toasty but very more breathable then my chartreuse brevet gilet.

Re-up! Just walked back from town very quickly to buy a wind jacket. Hopefully it'll live up to the hype and the 'Sage Green' won't be too offensive. Still annoyed I missed the fluoro green but there we go.
Also got some silly things - bidons, reflective oversocks, and one of those winter collar things. -

Some rude bastards in the Soho shop today, desperate to get their mitts on sale goodies. One particular A-grade titwank physically pushed me out of the way because I was looking at the same jerseys he needed to look at right that exact second.

What do I "need" for Kent/UK jaunts between now and June? Which Jersey /jacket vs gabba?
Lon sleeves and base layer underneath.Ta.

Pro Team Jacket. It's my default kit from October to April. PT base layer/merino mesh/merino base layer/winter base layer to suit the temperature.

Just buy a gabba ffs

The new material used in the new version of the Pro Team Soft Shell looks interesting. Does this mean the new version is warmer? More Pro Team Jacket like?
-
• #23924
well I've missed anything decent in the sale online.
Is the store sale collection any different or more plentiful?

This.
Strange everyone saying they're sizing up for the PT Soft Shell. I'm an M in almost everything, and after trying on the M in the store I found the arms to be really baggy and the fit to generally not be right at all.
Tried a small and it's perfect, if a little tight on the chest. It's the first 'small' item of clothing I've bought in well over 5/6 years.
FWIW I'm 6"1' and 12 (ish) stone, fairly skinny top half
