A lowly bike and only a minor project.
I started a new job recently. Day 1, only just made it in time, car trouble, day 2 same again, day 3 grabbed old faithfull and rode in to work. Day 5 rode home with a new car battery lashed to the back.
Only 5mins in it between bike or car, more in bikes favour depending on time of day, and there is very limited parking.
So actually getting round to fitting the drops i bought a few months ago, this will also make the bike easier to stash at work, and by leaving the brake cables on the riser set up i can switch between drops and risers with minimal fuss :) -

Haven't wrapped drops for maybe 20 years, bit rough around the edges, cheap tape snapped while wrapping, but it's a working bike so dosen't really matter :)

anything bright should pop off the frame nicely. Or maybe this - http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Cinelli-Cork-Ribbon-Handlebar-Tape-NOS-Vintage-Cork-Tape-Bar-Tape-in-burgundy-/121799419744?var=&hash=item1c5bcfa760

Any opinion about bar tape color ?
None.
If you can't choose your own tape, you clearly need to toughen-up.
Riding without any should help.
Also try using 20mm tyres and pumping them up to 200psi.

I have been looking for a french post office bike ("La Poste") for a while and finally found one in the local ads while in France over Christmas.
One sturdy beast, however the rack is attached to the forks and not the frame so it isn't good enough for Champagne deliveries.
Here is the before picture, I will just clean it up, recable it "a l'anglaise" and service what needs servicing.

Is it going to be a weight weenie project?
-
• #105589
Definitely not - although I have removed the front wheel reflector making it circa 15 grams lighter...
New blue brake cables fitted, wheels trued and bearing greased, roller brakes serviced, Nexus 3 Speed kit removed as I don't have the 'prong' or 'plunger' that links the hub to the rear gear selector.
Just needs a new front tyre and smaller rear sprocket.
EDIT: Front tyre fitted - A 24x1.75 budget one (8,95€) and also found an 18t Nexus rear sprocket at my LBS which is still too big but hey, at 3€, it is still better than the 22t that was fitted.
The bike will be back in London this weekend so be easily be spotted... -

Been forgot by father christmas right ?

No, I got Sciatica.
It was only a joke anyway: I'd have thought suggesting you run 20mm tyres at 200psi would have given that away.
Do I have to put a fucking smiley on everything?
:) xx

Anyone got a idea how to get a MonkeyLite riser into a Nitto Jaguar? If it was alloy a would hit it with a rubber mallet but because it's carbon i am somehow afraid. I've already tried to spread the stem with a screwdriver but still no luck. This stupid Concord is hell.

• #105595
just scratch the fuck out of them, they're old carbon and the top layer is all gloss anyway

I think one is 25.4mm and one is 26mm.

when fitting some stubborn ritchey bars into my jag, I started by screwing the front screw 'from behind' into the stem and inserted coin in the gap. As the screw got in, resting on the coin, stem gap was spreading enough to get the bars through.
