  • Of course, I'm fucking up all of the hill climb benefits with my obstinate insistence on the Mavic Cosmics anyway, so I'm sure the gearing will be negligible in the grand scheme of things.

  • Quite possibly. Unless 36x28 feels like a breeze. The hardest hill I've come across in the UK so far is Winnats Pass, and that's hardly an HC Col or anything. I tried and failed on 49x18 fixed, so anything smaller than that will feel amazing I'm sure.

  • If you can't get up Winnats Pass on a 36x28 you should give up cycling.

  • This.

The Pyrenees was doable on the very same gearing on a loaded touring bike.

  • As a brand Rose is a bit German Ribble for me .. Canyon is in line with Rapha (literally now too).

Was thinking about getting a Rose and now I never can.

  • Aha, there's the motivation I wanted!

  • I thought I didn't care, but I admit it's been eating away at me too! Bloody @amey and his throw away comments... :)

  • Canyon in line with rapha. Teh lolz.

  • Seriously guys, the canyon won actual awards and races last year. It also looks awesome, the Rose is basically a Ribble. What are we discussing here?

  • I thought it was Aeroad which won the awards, not the Ultimate?

  • leans in if you're not going to be racing (read crashing) it then go for the crabon.

Also all this talk of Force/Ultegra: have you ridden the new Ultegra. wso much better than 6700 and newer Force.

  • Hopefully no crashing, touch wood! Unlikely to be doing any racing either.

Yeah, that seems to be the general consensus - Force was only really an option on the cheaper Alu Canyon, but now carbon's been decided on, Ultegra will be the choice.

  • Oh I thought we were talking aeroad. Whichever. Canyons are excellent bikes if you can see past their customer service (I have circumnavigated this problem by buying both the canyons I have owned second hand... My girlfriend had an appalling experience buying from them, before picking one up second hand too)

  • Appalling how, out if interest? Just poor lead times/communication, or actual negligence etc?

  • I believe there may be a thread where Canyon's are discussed and this may even include some comments on their customer service.

  • People suggesting Rose on a Canyon thread >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    FU

  • I've dealt with them with warranty (via shop), they're fine.

  • If that's the case, Ribble or Rose?

  • I'm saving my pennies for this next year

  • Nds fail

  • I would love this, I prefer if they made aeroad disc version instead

  • Merry Christmas to you too, you droll bastard :)

  • Yes. Really aero you LoL.

  • I get the Aeroad disc when they make it with mudguard eyelets.
