  • Yep, love London around this time. Hackney Rd was empty of all cars at 8.50 this morning, which is a sure sign that judgment is upon us.

  • My bus sailed through Brixton as if t'were a police van on blues and twos.

  • Unlit cycle path home through woods and across fields in the pitch black with no other riders to be seen: Did myself no favours by watching zombie-based films the night before, resulting in constantly imagining being set upon by hoards of the undead.

  • Fucking lovely, left early. Cruised along, saw 10 other cyclists instead of 10,000. Stopped to get mc d's brekky to cure staying up late syndrome.
Lovely day. Nothing to do at work and half day, ace

  • Took the tube, it was a little less shit than usual. Also got a half day at work so I might get my xmas shopping done early this year.

  • Ha ha. Love it.

  • Empty roads offset by horrid headwind. 5/10

  • I miss Muddy Hell. :(

  • Someone trying to do a u turn on Vauxhall Bridge road, misjudged it and drove about 10 yards up the cycle superhighway.

Never thought I'd say that but wish I had a go pro rolling

  • Hackney Rd was like 28 Days Later this morning, surreal. Yesterday it had actually zombies on it in the form of a gaggle of ashen-faced 30-somethings clutching a half-drunk bottle of wine and complaining that the Joiners' Arms wasn't open at about 10:30 in the morning (they didn't appear to have cottoned on to the fact it's shut permanently...)

  • Went for a bit of a supply run once the shitty weather had passed. It was the best cycling weather for months. Camberwell and Walworth were pretty busy but the city was fairly calm. Couple of desparate last minute shoppers nearly got mowed down and there was an odd accident in Dulwich village with two fairly nice cars on the wrong side of the road, one with the bumper hanging off and the driver having a chat with the rozzers. Not a great start to Xmas for them.

  • I'm teaching myself to use GIMP so I made this. I'm really just getting to grips with how each tool works so don't tell me how shit this looks, it's just a mess about. Any general tips would be helpful. As I say, I'm only just learning how to use the tools and I obviously have no idea about design principles! I need to get my head around grids because these silly parody things are fun to do.

    Merry Christmas y'all.

  • Heh, would rep

  • What about all you need to know about sam brown ! Like viz but more modern.

  • Sorry, I don't fully understand statement, but am intrigued...tell me more.

    @umop3pisdn cheers :)

  • *Sam Browne

  • I never knew one of them was called a Sam Browne! The Wikipedia page has Hitler and Moussolini sharing some totes jokes bantz while wearing them.

  • sam brown

    Stop!

  • Excellent! Bring back rep.

This issue also starts our count down of the Top 10 Bad Habits To Avoid starting with sometimes looking behind you.

  • Should have crowbarred that one in up the right-hand side but all my bylines on the right looked shit. TBF to me, the background picture is ridiculously busy for a mag cover.

  • Back on the bike for the first time in more than 2 weeks. The fitness losses. Ow.

    10/10

  • Yep. First time doing any exercise in over 3 weeks with that time spent eating and drinking. The loss of fitness was quite extraordinary. I was most surprised

  • @fizzy.bleach Marvellous! Repost for new page.

  • I'm fat, slow and my lungs are tiny. No more smoking, eating or drinking ever again.

  • Oil bike, lube chain, make sure tyres up to pressure.

    Neck powergels, howl at moon.

    You are a road-owning demigod.

    Ride!
