  • One of the Klymit Inertia X Lite Short Mats? Reckon a simple foam mat would be quicker to just throw down and lay on rather than inflating, sticking into bag, etc?

  • Do you even need a mat? Finding soft ground or just being tired has worked for me, I assume I have a little more "natural padding" than someone like @skinny though...

    Josh Ibbet mentioned using his shoes as a pillow and it being comfortable, I've tried it (and sleeping with my head on the edge of a 29er tyre/wheel), couldn't move my neck the next day time, the tyre was equally uncomfortable. No silver bullet with these things...

  • I was going to try doing without one, L-Dub style. But this is yet another thing I need to test out.

  • Making a pillow with a compressor and whatever soft shite you have left work well.

    Even the saddle bag wrapped with your down/synetic jacket work well.

    Ideally a sloped ground worked wonder too.
