It's gotta be worth a stab at preserving the original paintwork imho. I did a couple of my Art Deco masters last week that were tatty, not quite as bad as that but nonetheless needed scraping off the blistering paint all over the place as well as a plethora of chips and scrapes. Walked out of the art shop with a bag full of enamel touch up paints in every colour under the sun.
Plenty of time spent touching up each colour one at a time and to be honest the intricate ad paint scheme makes it easier to disguise. I'm dead chuffed with the results and to be honest from a couple of meters away they look tip top.
Apart from a good few hours of my life I didn't really have much to lose

no idea , i got a bassano pink art decor one
dug this out of the war chest this afternoon, got the flakiest paint off, i was thinking of getting it completely redone, but now I'm considering just clear powder coat to stabilize the original decor, and build as "original condition"
