  • Did you get the XL?

The reason it's small is I tried to have my inflatable matt in there too. And sleeping bag. Even with my down sleeping bag, everything it too close and the bag just gets wet from condensation.

If I use my Rab Ascent, I can get my sleeping bag and big inflatable matt in there and have loads of room, can even store gear by my feet easily. I can get dressed in it. So for day in day out, it's way more practical. I sleep out in the pouring rain in this bag, never wet. Woken up and I'm in a puddle and no water gets in. It's fantastic for a proper good bivi. But it is bigger and hevier. But when you're already taking 400g for a bivi what's 200 more for having a really good one.

Even if I wanted a fast bag for power naps, I'd demand a full close zip to keep the bugs out.

  • No, I got the normal one. Maybe with a matt and a bag inside it might be too small. Need to try it to find out. I need to buy a smaller bag and matt anyway (see Sleeping Bag thread). Might try just using a down/Polartec jacket.

Everyone is different. ie. Jesse won it using a feckin' emergency bivvy and a jacket.
