How long does Sal take to kick in?
If it's working, you should get a noticeable improvement in a minute and peak effectiveness within about ten.

Should I book another appointment or just carry on?
I'd be hassling them to come up with a treatment plan to get your baseline PF up to a respectable figure and a plan which lets you medicate up to at least 90% of your baseline given normal triggers, in your case going for a ride in cool conditions. Even if these things are not achievable, you should at least have exhausted the possibilities in trying to achieve them.

Was hitting anywhere from 500-600. I can't tell if it's doing anything or not or if I'm just not consistent enough on the peak flow meter.
I did just bench a new world record though, is that a common side effect?
;)

Yeah, I did feel like I'd been fobbed off a bit. Especially since I had to call them to find out my xray results.
I mean, even a bloody garage will give you a ring to tell you your car needs a new fuel pump.

What's the best bike route mapper these days? I'm thinking about a point to point record next year and want to plot the best route (no, not lejog, that can get fucked). RideWithGPS or BikeRouteToaster or something else?

It's easy to get a low outlier, e.g. I did 620/610/550 after my roller session this evening. If you do 3 attempts and two of them are within a 20l.min-1 range, they're likely the correct measure. If you get a high outlier, try a couple more times to see if you can repeat it as high outliers are less common.

Any bike shops in London have a good selection of single speed sprockets? I'll need a 21t. I'd like to take my cross bike to the Surrey Hills early next week and I don't think my race gear is going to be much fun.

Maybe Condor?

When I was doing some comparisons of bike routing options for work, we concluded that Strava was probably the easiest to use and also came up with good routes. Not sure how good it'll be on fastest, it tends to route you off dual carriageways whenever possible.

Until they don't use Google Maps anymore, which is a bit annoying.
It was useful being able to use Streetview to see what the route look like.

Do you know about any London shop that would stock Tortec P-clips, or nice equivalent rubber COATED (not lined) P-clips?

I'd try calling Fitzrovia Cycles first, they're usually pretty good on stuff like that, or
or if it's for mounting mudguards to a frame without eyes then condor sell these

Get a referral to an asthma clinic. I also only got put on salbutomol (sp?) to begin with and it took an emergency admission to St Thomas's to get properly looked at, and put on a preventer inhaler.

Best place to get replacement 1" threaded forks?
And what info do I need before buying one? -

And what info do I need before buying one?
Steerer length is the critical fit dimension, axle to crown length should be pretty close to what you're replacing if you don't actually want to change the geometry of the whole bike, and fork offset should match what you had before or you'll change the steering geometry, although that's not all that critical unless you're already on the edge of the envelope.
Really though, you probably shouldn't even be replacing a threaded fork, threadless is superior so take the opportunity to upgrade with a new headset and stem.

Thanks. I'll have a look - I don't need Premium do I?
I ended up using RideWithGPS. It basically did what I wanted pretty simply. I even managed to edit a course within minutes without destroying the whole route like the Garmin software does.

Yeah, I'll hassle them some more in the new year. Or failing that, just go private. That way, I can tell them what to do.

Is Evilbay the best place to look?
Yeah, why not. After all, you're only entrusting your life to the most highly stressed part of your bike, and the one whose failure is most likely to result in your death. What could possibly go wrong?

Roger that, I'll go speak to a frame builder
