Stanley will be fine. Take your time. Score with care first, then just gently repeat that line a few times.
My first attempt is ok-ish. Not beutiful, and the holes I punched for lacing kept splitting. I'd just cut a narrowish slit next time (but with round ends so the split doesn't continue later), and not bother trying to lace the top flap inwards.
