I like the USB rechargeable Moon Gem copies that planet X sells: http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/LIAR1ORURRL/areo-10r-(moon-gem)-usb-rechargeable-rear-led-light
Although I see they're doing the actual Moon Gem too.
Not sure if the front is currently available, but I have got it from there in the past.

Good as backups, but I wouldn't want them as a main light.
-
• #4255
Yep, we already have quite a collection of bigger lights (and some shittier smaller spare ones that I no longer trust). This is just cheap blinky backup lighting.

Oh yeah, I really should read all the posts. Then agreed, I have a pair in my bag as backups. I keep them in 35mm film canisters though as otherwise they tend to get turned on and have no juice left when you need them.

Is there a concensus on the best rechargeable batteries (AAA if it matters) for lights?
-
• #4258
I've had a couple of Smart Lunar 35s, decent light for the price but the button stops working after a while.
I've got a Moon Comet for my front blinky light http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00A77SNHI/ Decent as it's a bit of a strip so is fairly eye catching. Added bonus that I can mount it on the headtube to get some extra space on the bars.

Fujitsu Pro, they are Eneloops in different packaging as are the AAs they brand.
-
• #4262
Thanks Hippy and Mr_Bump. Eneloops were what I'd been trying to remember the name of.

Hey that's a good shout.
A decent CE reg charger and a lipo bag will be on the next Amazon order I think.

Knog road blinder?
-
• #4265
Thought Knogs failed all the time?
-
• #4266
Never had another kind so I don't know, but the blinder seems reasonably well put together and has lasted me a fair while as a backup.

• #4267
Only place for it really!

Got a Cateye Volt 800 after my MicroDrive packed up. It is bright as hell.

GP Recyko are pretty good and I can vouch that they definitely don't go flat if unused, even after more than 6 months. I think my first lot are in their 6th winter now and they're still going strong.

Any tips for a cheap rear light that's bolted (!!!) to the seat post?
-
• #4271
Do you mean the light is bolted or the light bracket? If the latter Smart's 2W rear light is excellent. I have had one on my bike for several years now in all weathers with no issues.

Any tips for a decent front light on sale anywhere preferably aaa
-
• #4273
The light itself. I want a rear light that requires tools to take off. Prefer it to be mounted to the seat post since lights on race blades won't be such a great idea.

• #4275
Isn't that a front light? Or is it simply the fact it's cheap that's important? Also, I may be getting old but who or what is banggood?
Got one of the Knog. Regular use would brake that sooner then later.
