Go and try both in Rapha shop. Stop wearing naff stuff you deserve better ;)
Do you really need hardshell? IME staying warm > staying dry. That softshell will do excellent job to keep you warm and relatively dry. Its labelled water resistant; I've worn the old version in torrential rain and although you get wet it dries quick and keeps you warm. Try it; if you still feel the need for a hardshell theres plenty out there.
