I took a tube from a bikeframe and i have ride maybe 2000k with those DIY spacers, no problem at all.

Or couldn't you just get some 1 1/8" steel streerer offcuts and cut them to the right length?
-IF you're looking for 1" spacers.

As long as the wall thickness is 1.6mm or less, that would work.
