I bought a 18650 Ultrafire battery from eBay to replace the OE Lezyne one in my Powerdrive front lamp. It's rated at 3000mAh where as the original was 2400. Voltage rating is same. The new one barely lasts 30mins, why so short, wattage too high?

From reading around this there are a lot of fakes out there. A lot seem to come from old laptop batteries http://www.torchythebatteryboy.com/p/18650-batteries-chargers.html. Ultrafire don't have a great reputation.

Thanks for this, useful reading. Based on their findings I took the wrap off the battery, disappointed to find it looks new rather than some battered old second thing. Will try another brand!
