Despite the terrible instructions! Are they any good?

I can't argue with what you're saying, but I find the Diablo exemplary. Obviously the tap-change is designed with helmet mounting in mind, but I don't find changing modes via the button much bother.
The Strada's light throw might be a bit more 'road optimised' or whatever, but the Diablo is punishingly bright, illuminates the road perfectly for my visibility. It's also small enough to chuck in a pocket when I'm at the pub, which the Strada seems way to bulky for. £200 for the front and rear light which will last a good bunch of years also seems like a decent price.

For £30 they're great. Piss all over my lezyne micro drive which was pretty much the same price. Never used high-end lights before so no idea what they stand up to performance wise. Not sure I'd be blown away if I spent £150 on them. They'll definitely perform well enough for what I want them to do though.

@dancing james @MechaMorgan where are you guys fitting the remote switch? Flats/risers I can see where it goes but struggling to picture it on drops...
-
• #4207
I was thinking about tucking it on the inside of the hoods, but after a more indepth google they're pretty fucking large!
-
• #4209
Yeah, I was hoping for something like this:
Will investigate and see if there have been anyone's been successful making/modding their own version...
-
• #4210
Yeah please report back! That's exactly what I'd want.
Talking of modding lights, I was thinking yesterday about an internal battery (a la Di2) for serious lights. Is it possible / anyone managed it?

Been using this on unlit roads this winter: http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Izone-ARC-600-Rechargeable-Front-Light_84246.htm
You can usually pick up a fiver off at tredz, so £35 for 600 Lumens aint too shabby. Does a good job, beam is good and wide, although the flashing setting is epilepsy inducing for anyone within a 400 metre radius, including myself.

I see, thanks!
I have an idea to test how the SPT port works, if it's as I think then it should be fairly easy to use a smaller switch. Will report back later this evening depending on how things go...

Figured out the remote switch, it's ultra simple and should easily be as discrete as the photo I posted earlier with the right switch, got some bits on the way to try it out properly!

you are doing gods work, my son
@dancing james yup that was where I was going to fit it... if we can make a smaller one to cable up then all the better.

Surprised you haven't got a dynamo set up on all of the bikes yet!?
-
• #4218
Ha! I've got a dyno on the Straggler, but also run an additional light where the switch would be handy. A few extra lumens on those long, draggy climbs can come in handy and is a quicker fix than getting fitter/faster!

• #4219
please keep me updated about the smaller switch
-
• #4220
Cheers for the update, used to have a Lezyne Micro myself but lost it a while back :( live in deepest darkest Scotland these days so need something to get me up and down hills for after work fun times :) (plus I'm skint)

any news?

Got it working, didn't check the dimensions of the switches I ordered though. They are crazy small and really difficult to use with gloves which is mostly when I'd need a remote switch (will post a photo later).
Looking for some alternatives, ideally waterproof to use on the mountain bike, dimensions of this one are a little big, but going to contact them for a sample and see what it looks like... https://www.cpi-nj.com/products/waterproof-switches/momentary-switches/b5154-normally-open-pushbutton-switch/

I have used this light: http://www.bikelightsreview.com/front-lights/smart-lunar-35/
and it's equivalent rear for years. Until the last week or so they've never let me down but now, at the same time, both barely work any more. They cut out intermittently or just won't turn on.
Main reason I loved these lights was the battery life and the fact that the front was bright enough for pitch black cycling and barely ever needed a battery change.Any recommendations for a bright front light that last for months at a time without needing new batteries?
Will use Cateye TL-LD1100 the rear. Gets very good reviews and has a 100hr run time.

Thanks!
That's the exact one I've got though.
Fancied an upgrade.Really out the game about what's hot and what's not.
Is there a go to cheapo/chinese ebay light ? Such choice.
